2A is a more than 50% tax increase on just a part of our Vail lodging community.  It disadvantages long-time contributors to the vibrancy of Vail and helps corporate branded hotels in the process. While well intentioned, the break in parity and unlevel playing field created by 2A would inadvertently benefit out of state corporations over businesses who have made Vail their home for decades.

— Zach Meyers; General Manager - Manor Vail Lodge

“2A will have a substantial impact on Vail’s small businesses. When we make it more difficult for families to visit Vail, we make it tougher for our small businesses to survive.”

— Deena DiCorpo; Owner - Pet Boutique

While well intended, 2A will hurt local workers and businesses while benefitting large out of state corporate hotels - making it more difficult for locally owned businesses to hire and maintain their workforce. Our workers need housing solutions that will help their families, 2A will inadvertently hurt the workers it’s hoping to help.
